Long Summary[]
Death of Moe's grandmother[]
When Moe hears the news of her grandmother's death, Tsuruoka hands her money as condolences. Moe insists that she is now on Nana's side, but Tsuruoka interrupts her and tells her to hurry up because she will miss the last train. After Moe leaves, Nanao questions Tsuruoka's actions. Tsuruoka says that he wants to be a good person in front of Sachiyo[1]. He wants Sachiyo to die believing Tsuruoka was a good person. Tsuruoka asks Nanao why he thinks their efforts to isolate and kill talented individuals have never been exposed publicly. Nanao thinks the government simply covered it up.
Conversation between Nanao and Tsuruoka[]
Tsuruoka says that while there is a team that spread disinformation, they don't do their jobs very well. The main reason according to Tsuruoka is because people won't believe in the fact that their country has been slaughtering boys and girls. Nanao lets Tsuruoka know that he thinks Tsuruoka will work with a shady politician to expose the government's conspiracy. Tsuruoka believes that this old man wants an incident caused by talented individuals that will shake the world. The disappearance of Koharu and the murder of Daichi must be spreading an ominous atmosphere among the talented individuals of the school.
Nanao adds that there is still an enemy of humanity, despite them leaving the island. Nanao points himself as he's saying that. Tsuruoka tells Nanao that it's about time that the scheme progresses, and asks him what he thinks about the new leader[2]. Nanao says that he already settled things with him.
Flashback: Meeting between Nanao and Daisuke[]
Nanao asked Daisuke if he remembered him. That surprised Daisuke for a short moment because he thought Nanao died. Nanao then asked him if he bought the car he had. Daisuke bragged and described how he got it. Someone was blowing his horn while Daisuke was walking. Daisuke dragged him out of the car and " taught him a lesson ", so the driver offered Daisuke his car as an apology. Nanao finds that scary. He declares that the old him wouldn't even have been able to talk with Daisuke. Daisuke tells him to shut up then. He has no interest in "small fries", alive or dead. Daisuke then looks at Nanao menacingly. Nanao points out his interest in Daisuke.
Nanao declares that Daisuke is indifferent to school matters and that he has started a shady business since arriving in the Main Land. Daisuke brags by saying he just raided a phone office and took the place over. He asks Nanao what about it. Nanao says Daisuke couldn't even get a part-time job on the Island. When Nanao asks if Daisuke if he likes money, Daisuke affirms that he likes money and power. Daisuke then describes himself as an ordinary uneducated thug who wants to be at the top. Nanao tells Daisuke he's already special since he got a talent. Daisuke puts it in a different way, he wants the power to control and force people into submission. In extreme cases, the ability to get away with a crime.
Daisuke says a talented individual doesn't stand a chance against humans in certain situations. He gives an example: a sniper shooting someone from far away[3]. He thinks attention-seeking monkeys that don't get that can have fun enjoying their adolescence with each other. Nanao makes a joke saying if they're monkeys why not being a zookeeper. Nanao adds that Tsuruoka and the military would back them because, apparently, Nana is unreliable now.
For a long time, Daisuke has wondered if there were ways to make these monkeys dance. He says that his deal with the military isn't bad if they clean up his mess, even though they seem shady. Daisuke asks Nanao why he doesn't become the class leader. In response to his question, Nanao told him that he hated everyone. Daisuke lets Nanao know he realized that he wants to use him. Daisuke is happy with that and accepts forming an alliance.
Back to the conversation between Tsuruoka and Nanao[]
Tsuruoka asks Nanao if he controlled Daisuke using his talent. Nanao says he thought of doing so at first since Daisuke has always been screwy. Nanao describes Daisuke as the type of person that wouldn't hesitate to kill someone for his own benefit. Nanao declares that talented individuals are all bad people.
Nana's point of view[]
Nana consoles Kiyomi. Kiyomi apologizes again and feels guilty because Nana lost her position of leader because of her. When Kiyomi enters her room and split up with Nana, Moe arrives, rushing. Moe tells Nana about her grandmother's situation. This surprises Nana because Sachiyo[4] seemed so healthy when they've met. Moe is shocked since Nana never told her. Nana says that it was never the right timing to talk about his. Moe says she'll leave the school for a while and worries if Nana will be okay without her. Nana tells Moe she doesn't have to worry. Moe promises Nana that she will be back soon. She's not gonna let Tsuruoka's money win her over. Also, Sachiyo is a though lady.
Takeo's death[]
Moe promises to be back soon and rushes to catch the train. Nana hopes nothing serious will happen to Sachiyo since she seemed like a good person. Moe takes a shortcut as she's running to make it in time[5]. Moe sees a car accident behind her.
What's happening[]
Daisuke hit Takeo on purpose while driving his car. He then gets out to talk harshly to Takeo as he's dying.
