Nanao's Father[]
Nanao has a complex relationship with his father. He looks up to his father, even though it can seem like he hates him. Nanao joined the school at the island to meet his father's expectations. Despite his mixed feelings about the watch his father gave him, he continued to hold onto it.
Nanao reveals that although he's afraid of his father, he wants to be like him, showing his respect.

Nana Hiiragi tries to be Nanao’s friend, which he notes that she is very persistent. They both begun to get along well as they were chatting in class. Nana tries to nominate Nanao much to his shock. Nana kept trying to encourage Nanao but he said that he wasn’t going to fight. Nana follows Nanao much to his annoyance. They eventually end up eating together as they had a conversation. During the battle between Maguo and Seiya, Maguo unleashed a fire ball. Nanao quickly comes to defend Nana and the rest of the afflicted people. Which resulted in him being chosen for leadership. He is very happy and thanks Nana for helping him.
